As I sit here thinking about what I am going to write in my first ever BLOG post I am struck with the question, “Why Do I Even Want to do a BLOG post.” I can easily buy or have BLOGS automatically posted to my account. Although they will give you information you may or may not need, the will be well written, short and informative. The problem is that some may and some may not reflect my point of view.
So why should my point of view matter? I would imagine that you would want to know something about the person you are going to have represent you in one of the biggest financial transactions your are going to have – the sale or purchase of a home. The surprising thing is that most people don’t take the time to check out the person they are entrusting to handle this huge financial transaction. I am amazed at the number of people that will work with someone they met at an open house or as the agent was walking the neighborhood plastering the doorsteps with a flyer of an upcoming listing or open house.
You must take the time to find out some things about your agent – How long has the agent been licensed? How many deals have they done? How well do they know the area? How well do they negotiate? Have their past clients enjoyed working with them? These are just a few questions you should be asking before you hire your next Realtor. Once the contract is signed and the honeymoon is over it may be too late.
